Bryngwyn Year 9 Rugby Achievement

On Thursday 9th March Bryngwyn the Year 9 rugby team entered the Bishopston 7 aside tournament. A popular tournament where 30 different schools competed, some very strong teams involved. The Bryngwyn team managed to get out of a tough group stage with 3 wins & 1 loss.

Wins over Olchfa 19-17, Llangynwyd 26-19, Bryntawe 28-14 & Defeat to QE High School 26-5.

We were locked on the same points as QE High School after the group stage and finished 2nd in our group on number of tries scored, therefore we went into the Plate competition.

Quarter Final - 54-5 Llangatwg, Semi Final - 28-12 Pontarddulais and Final- Bryngwyn 7-29 Maes Y Gwendraeth.

A great achievement on finishing runners up in the plate competition with 30 strong rugby schools competing.

All 12 players played their part in getting to the final & can be proud of their efforts & standard of rugby.

SQUAD: Morgan Rudland (c), Sam Wooler, Morgan Thomas, Darcy Etheridge, Jac Richards, Jack Southam, Steff Payne, Rhydian Jenkins, Jay Guard, Danny Dawson, Joe Nethell, Aaron Evans.
