Bryngwyn students participating in Volunteens: Be Heard. Be Helpful completed their taster session at Foothold Cymru. On Day 1, students learnt about our Community Food Store, how it helps those in the community and what they could do to further support this. Students helped tidy and stock our store before packing food bags for our second food scheme, Y Fasged Siopa, which delivers food to towns and villages in rural north Carmarthenshire. On Day 2, students made and baked three types of Welsh Cakes in the morning which were then given out in our Community Food Store in Llanelli to those accessing the service. This was an added bonus to beneficiaries to our store! Some of the Welsh Cakes were also used for young people taking part in our Build on Red project too. On both days the young people also prepared and cooked their own lunch developing some basic cookery skills at the same time!
